One of the few appearances of Superman in a Batman animated series, but more impressively it pays a ton of homage to the “Superman is a Dick” meme while doing it in a classic and funny style. “ Battle of Superheroes” – This is a special episode from every angle. The rest of the episode focuses on Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman teaming up to take on The Joker, Lex Luthor and Cheetah, and eating lunch together! That scene made us so happy.Ĥ. The opening for this episode features the Justice League taking on the Legion of Doom in a baseball game. That is only the START of the episode. “ Triumvirate of Terror” – One way that Batman: The Brave and the Bold stood out was by its cold open, which not only served as a method for storytelling purposes, but also to embrace even some of the zanier ideas of the series. This is worth checking out for the wonderful set-up and pay-off.ĥ. Not only do we get that, but we get to see an extremely dark side of Batman as he attempts to save the world, but as always things are not what they seem. “ Deathrace to Oblivion” – I’m a huge fan of Wacky Races, and never in my wildest dreams did I suspect we would ever get a Batman episode (or even comic issue) in a similar mold. Brave the the Bold decided to play fast and loose with its timeline so we’re allowed to get an episode like this in which Robin, Aqualad and Speedy get to usurp their bosses and attempt to gain some notoriety for themselves.Ħ. We have seen rare examples of Dick Grayson’s Robin moving on to Nightwing and the likes, but Batman: The Brave and the Bold took it one step further. “ Sidekicks Assemble” – In the world of comics, characters age and evolve over decades, but that often doesn’t translate to other forms of media.
